A 35-year tradition that started with one radio host’s calling and grew into a national community of donors, partners, and families.
Our Founder
It started with a calling.
Beloved radio host Kidd Kraddick founded Kidd’s Kids in 1991. He began his radio career as a teenager in Florida before arriving in Dallas, TX in 1984 when he started hosting nights on KEGL ‘The Eagle.’ He then moved to KHKS KISS-FM in the early 90s and launched ‘Kidd Kraddick in the Morning.’
Before his daughter, Caroline, was born something didn’t look right in her ultrasound and he and his wife didn’t know if she would be okay. In that moment, he made a promise. He said, ‘If my daughter is born healthy, I’ll spend my life helping kids who need it most.’ Caroline was born healthy, and Kidd kept his promise. That promise became Kidd’s Kids. It wasn’t just a charity to him; it was something deeply personal. Today Kidd’s Kids is still doing exactly what he promised it would: Creating joy, creating connection, and creating moments families will never forget.
Kidd passed away unexpectedly in 2013, and Caroline and the Kidd’s Kids team are proud to continue his legacy.
Kidd’s Kids was his way of turning something scary into something full of hope. And that’s who he was – someone who believed even the hardest moments could become something good.

The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.
Even after Kidd's passing in 2013, The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show has stayed committed to helping us live out the mission. The show dedicates one broadcast each year to raising money for the trip, known as "Kidd's Kids Day," a major source of our fundraising. The cast also attends the trip every year and broadcasts live from Walt Disney World, where the kids and their families bond with them in the parks.

35 years of lookin’ up.
Kidd's Kids began in 1991 with one radio host, a few families, and a single trip to Walt Disney World. From the start, the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show carried the mission to listeners across the country, turning what could have been a one-time effort into an annual tradition.
When Kidd passed in 2013, the grief was enormous — but the mission didn't pause. His daughter Caroline stepped into leadership, the morning show kept every tradition alive, and the families kept saying yes. Thirty-five years in, Kidd's Kids has served more than 1,000 children and grown into a national community of donors, partners, and alumni families.
