An Update from Kidd’s Kids

mission-ng

Dear Kidd’s Kids Family,

Little did I know when I wrote my anthem for Kidd’s Kids “Stronger” how much we all would need these words of support. The year began with the joy of knowing that with your help we were able to create beautiful memories for 64 families, almost 300 people, on our annual trips to Disney World. These trips are always filled with hope and happiness and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to serve these very special kids and their families.

Our hearts are filled with concern for the health and safety of our vulnerable kids, their families, and all of our volunteers, donors, partners, and staff during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Our applications for the 2020 trips are open (Kidd’s Kids Teen Trip applications can be found here and Kidd’s Kids Trip applications can be found here.) While we have no way of knowing how the trips may be impacted, we know that the need doesn’t end for creating hope and happiness for the kids with life challenging and life-threatening conditions. Fortunately, our trips are scheduled for November and we are continuing to work as if these trips will, for the 29th year, take place as scheduled. All decisions related to our trips will be made with the utmost concern for the safety, well-being, and care of our Kidd’s Kids families, volunteers, supporters, and staff.

We were extremely fortunate that our first and one of our largest fundraising events of the year, Rock the Runway, An Evening in Marfa, was a big success. Based on current guidelines, our upcoming fundraising events for the next two months have been canceled.

We know that everyone is being impacted during these unprecedented and challenging times. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me continue the legacy of my dad, Kidd Kraddick. When he created Kidd’s Kids he had no idea how much love he would continue to share.

We will get through this and be STRONGER because of the adversity we face.

With love,
Caroline
